Augie - I certainly agree with this statement and believe the same applies to Canadian's interested in the Sunshine State as well... Haven't thought about advertising there... Interesting idea though.

Are you located in Jacksonville??

Hi, Jeff-

It certainly is going to be an interesting year. There is another great group of people that will be looking to buy in Florida. People who live in the Northeast are still looking down in Florida. It's a bargain now and people who have an extra few bucks laying around may be willing to buy a condo on the ocean now that they are affordable. Have you tried hooking up with someone in NYC? Maybe you can buy advertising on the subway line to motivate people to buy in Florida. To them, our real estate is cheap.

I remember when I was in NYC last time the trains were covered with ads to go vacation in Costa Rica. Some slick ads about Florida Real Estate could be successful.

Real Estate is the worst that I have ever seen. If the credit easing doesnt happen things will continue to deteriorate. What are your thoughts?

This pie in the sky attitude that if he builds it they will come. Singles, couples with no children, empty nesters? (Sure.)
What planet are these people from that think no one will drive & just walk, jog or take a train/bus to wherever they need to go?
Where are the church representatives that should question restaurants & bars that will be serving alcohol near their churches?
What about the impact on the quaintness of San Marco & the increased traffic this will bring to the area i.e.,River Oaks Road? With the addition of 900 units in the area, traffic on River Oaks has the potential of increasing anywhere from 773% to 1467% once those units start filling.
What about the impact on our already overcrowded schools? Has the school board considered this?

Just got my notice of proposed property taxes for next year. The market value of my condo (in 32224) went down 31%

Well, to be optimistic, at least I won't be moving anytime soon, so lower mortgage payments next year won't be too bad, right?
